and annoying as many people as possible is what out hobby is all about.

i'm just going to mount my media player inside my trailer in a spot i can easily reach from the outside.

way back, before i found out newer media players (except effing creative labs' units that CLAIM to, but only for the lo-fi mic recording's resolution) play WAVs i wanted to use a CD changer on bungee with a car deck controller, but car remotes all operate with freakin' infrared! good luck trying to make a remote fire backwards at hidden gear with that. you CAN get RF remotes with marine gear but that's an expensive proposition and limiting on gear selection. in the end, media players are better. an 8gb unit that can play uncompressed WAVs is the equivilent of a 10 CD changer that NEVER skips.

i'm not keen on FM transmitters either because you're going to lose some fidelity in conversions.

i tell you though, if i were building a no holds barred system, i'd get a sonos media player and either use shielded drivers and a bungee suspension (they work with hard drives) or hack a system to use newer flash based hard drives because their RF remotes are just SICK! imagine putting a touchscreen with, say, a couple hundred gigabytes worth of uncompressed audio between your hand grips!

now THIS is what i call a controller!

is that a thing of beauty or what?

who knows... i might STILL do a sonos system some day if i get serious about a "competition level" system.

oh, i hate giving my "secret weapons" away before i ever get to use them, but if i never do, maybe someone else will.
