Privacy
Policy
We at Equilibrium, recognise your right to confidentiality and are
committed to protecting your privacy. Protecting your privacy is important
to us; the information contained herein strives to help you understand
just how much personal information is (and is not) collected on our web
site and how it is used.
Automatic
Information Collection
When navigating our web site, personal information about you is not
collected automatically. We do log the IP address of your computer to
enable verification of email addresses. This does not disclose any
personal information about you.
About
Cookies
As is the case with many web sites, certain portions of our web site may
utilise a common technology known as "cookies" to collect and/or
store information about you. A cookie is small amount of data that is
transferred to your browser by a Web server and can only be read by the
server that gave it to you. A cookie cannot be executed as code or deliver
viruses.
Our
forum, which is powered by phpBB,
utilises cookies to store information such as your username and email
address and basic login details (last visited date and time).
The
cookie file is important because it allows us to make sure that you are
who you say you are when you come back into our system and it also
prevents anyone from using your information to post or modify files. It is
also convenient because when you come back to the forum
the system will recognise you and enter in your username and password for
you into the login page.
These
files in no way allow us to access your hard drive at anytime; it only
allows your system to tell us that you have previously visited our site.
Most
browsers are initially set to accept cookies. You can set your browser to
notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide
whether or not to accept it. Our system is completely cookie dependent and
you must receive ALL cookies to make full use of the site.
Equilibrium
sending information via the Internet
Some of our integrated site software has been equipped with an error
checking feature. Upon encountering an error or site malfunction the
software will automatically inform us of the problem along with details of
your operating system, browser and internet settings. This information
will be used to determine the probable cause and help us to correct it as
soon as possible. There is no personal information sent to our server,
only information from the software itself, all of which is completely
anonymous.
E-mail
Addresses and Their Usage
Equilibrium asks that you enter your valid e-mail address to your profile
on forum.
You have the option to hide it from other members and the public.
Equilibrium does not sell, trade or rent your email address to others. We
ask for your e-mail address so that we may contact you to inform you of
important news, updates, or other information that we think would be of
great interest to you, including notifications when you receive private
messages. We know that the members in our database are very sensitive to
receiving spam, or unsolicited email; hence we are very careful about what
we send out and to whom.
When
you participate in a contest, promotion or survey, we may ask for your
name, address, e-mail address or other information.
At
any time, you may choose to not be included in the database and have your
account terminated by sending an email to a member of our committee.
